Review on some bellydance dvds :)

BD DVD Review (jan 2011):

– Michelle Joyce PopLock&Shimmy (best for casual/hobbyist/neverdanced, simple intro to basic combos)

– Nourhan Sharif (best for casual/hobbyist/neverdanced)

– Amira Mor (strictly that mechanical “fitness” approach – no dance at all!)

– Sadie Thrillin Drillin (solid beg vocab w/a natural learning progression, build articulation, good challenging intro to combo moves & timing)

– Kaeshi Chai (excellent balance of tech/vocab/dance = what a teacher or class should be, experienced teaching appropriate material to appropriate BegIntAdv level.

– Neon Luscious (best for fun/casual/hobbist, pretty combos in Neon’s signature curvy moves)

– Rania Rossini Hipper Than Hip (pretty combos into ‘fun practice’…..albeit fluff-o-rama)

– Sadie&Kaya PopsLocks&Shimmies (interm level, cont’s bldg & challenging combo variety)

– Sadie Slow n Sultry Moves (best for casual/hobbist, slow/curvy moves into short rhythm-challenging combos)

– Sadie Drum Solo (interm level,con’t building complex combos for choreographed dance)

– Saida & Mario Kirlis Bellydance vol 1 & 2 (for any level of any dance bkg, adding latin influence to your bellydancing)
